From the perspective of water resources, the study assesses the sewage collection and treatment rate and the percentage of organic waste removal in each of the 5,570 municipalities and classifies them into categories according to the capacity to dilute the waste received by the respective receiving bodies (unlimited, excellent or good, regular, poor and terrible, and zero). In addition, the Atlas offers solutions to improve the efficiency of the installed infrastructure and to advance the institutional structuring of sewage collection and treatment service providers throughout the country, so that the investments indicated are effective.
